Trump Administration's Shocking Security Mistake Pete Hegseth's Yemen War Plan Sent to The Atlantic

Hey America, get ready, your morning news just got even more brutal. The Trump administration got into big trouble when they accidentally sent a message about Yemen war plans to Jeffrey Goldberg, editor-in-chief of The Atlantic. Yes, you heard that right. Top secret information meant only for those inside the White House found its way to the Signal app on a reporter's phone.

What Happened Signal Missed

On March 11, National Security Advisor Mike Waltz (that's Michael Waltz) added Jeffrey Goldberg to a Signal group chat called the Houthi PC Small Group. Then came March 15 when Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth literally dropped a bombshell, reading a detailed battle plan for U.S. strikes to wipe out Yemen's Houthi rebels. They were talking about targets, weapons and the timing of the attack. All were sent at 1144 AM ET, just two hours before the bombs fell. At 145 PM ET, a veteran journalist named Goldberg shared a viral piece from The Atlantic titled, The Trump administration accidentally sent me its war plans, which stunned Americans and shocked Europe.

The chat doesn't just feature Hegseth and Waltz, big names like VP JD Vance, Secretary of State Marco Rubio and CIA Director John Ratcliffe are also included. By 0225 AM PDT reactions to the chat have surfaced on Twitter, including everything from Pete Hegseth needs to resign to how this happened. The White House has acknowledged the chat as legitimate, but has said it was a mistake by an unknown number. Well.

Pete Hegseth trouble means

Hegseth, formerly the Fox News frontman and now Secretary of Defense, is now under a whole lot of criticism. He told reporters in Hawaii yesterday that no one was writing the battle plan and called Goldberg a rogue hacker, but The Atlantic has receipts and screenshots showing Hegseth's team updates with details of the attack. Critics like Jon Stewart took a dig at him on The Daily Show, saying he was probably watching White Lotus when he was pressed. Opeds like The Hill's say if Pete Hegseth had any honor he would resign. They're lining up to say these security breaches are a national embarrassment.

Hillary Clinton's You've Got to Be Kidding Moment

Oh irony level 100 Hillary Clinton, who Trump has roasted for years on her private email server, wrote a sarcastic you've got to be kidding me post along with an XPartners article In 2016 Hegseth and Vance ruined her for carelessly handling classified information and now those same people are in the ass CNN showed a cruel montage of their old clips and now hypocrisy has become a trending topic XPartners are expressing outrage over posts like this Hillary laughing all the way to the bank going viral

Yemen bombings and Europe's sideeye The

March 15 attack plan was leaked, in which Houthi bases were to be attacked to stop Red Sea shipping attacks. The chat shows there was a difference of opinion. Hegseth wanted to act fast, while Vance complained that their freeloading to get Europe to bail out again was pathetic. Europe is not impressed. Outlets like The Guardian are criticizing America's lax security and Trump team allies disagree with this surprise attack. According to Al Jazeera, 53 people died in the attacks and now this huge mistake is leading lawmakers like Chuck Schumer to say that this is surprising and alarming.

White House security questioned

This isn't just a small mistake, it's a full-blown security breach. Experts say using a public encrypted app like Signal for classified briefings could be a violation of the Espionage Act. The White House is reviewing how Goldberg got in, but the NSC's Bryan Hughes is turning this into intense policy coordination. Democrats are not impressed. Representative Jim Himes told Politico that Hillary did not post battle plans on email. Meanwhile Trump said yesterday that I'm not a big fan of The Atlantic. I know nothing about it. Classic Trump

What's Going On Right Now

X is in full swing as of 225 AM PDT, Pete Hegseth security breach and Yemen bombing are the top tags, Jesse Watters Fox defends Hegseth calling him a nothingburger, while the Daily Caller questions Goldberg's motives, former Defense Secretary Leon Panetta tells CNN this is unprecedented incompetence, Americans are divided, some say heads should be turned, others say this is just another Trump style chaos, but one thing is for sure, this has become the biggest talking point in the country

Why this story matters to us

This is your government, America, classified war plans are leaking out like a sloppy TikTok DM, it has everything, political drama, national security stakes and even a little bit of Hillary talk, whether you're angry, worked up or confused, this story is not going to stop, stay tuned for real time updates, as the results are still to come.
