The Archetype boasts a declared weight of 275g making it 35g lighter than the Grand Prix 5000 S TR of identical width. The design includes tubeless-ready features while being specifically tuned for hookless rims like those from Enve. Continental suggests using 30ml of sealant per tyre while maintaining a pressure range between 65 to 73 psi—values that were previously nonexistent in road racing standards.
The expanded dimensions of UAE Team Emirates-XRG’s Colnago V5Rs bikes allow for comfortable accommodation of 30mm tyres due to their 32mm clearance capacity.

- BlackChili compound for better hold and rolling resistance.
- LazerGrip Trade Micro-profile for better corning.
- Active comfort technology to reduce road vibration and improve the quality of ride.
How it is compared to other Pro Tires
Earlier, Riders like Pogačar chose GP5000 TTR in Road Stage - which is only available in 25 mm and 28 mm width - the weight of 28 mm version is only 240 grams. The team has access to Continental Aero 111, in which the vortex generator is facilitating trade pattern for Aero profit and it is available in 26 mm and 29 mm width.
However, with the new Archetype, its comprehensive footprint and integrated comfort technology, can provide better overall solutions in different tour stages.
Confrontation of potential rules with UCI regulations?
Although this tire is favorable to the existing team's priorities, but in the future it may have to face challenges. Under the proposed "maximum meter" rule of UCI, the teams that use 54x11- tooth gear ratio can be limited to maximum 28 mm tire width. If it is applied, then it will technically declare the use of 30 mm Archetype in those situations.

A step ahead, or a regulatory dilemma?
Since the wide tires are being preferred for speed, comfort and security, therefore potential UCI limitations, irony is that the teams can force to adopt less optimal setup.
At the moment, the Archetype Continental has been revealed as a bold statement - in which Pro-level performance has been composite with the modern development of road racing technology.
