LAS VEGAS — A'ja Wilson continued her stellar season with 19 points and 13 rebounds to lead the Las Vegas Aces to an 83-61 win over the Phoenix Mercury on Thursday night. The win was the Aces' ninth straight and seventh straight at home.

A’ja Wilson dominates with 19 points and 13 rebounds as the Las Vegas Aces defeat the Phoenix Mercury for their ninth straight win.

Las Vegas (23-14) has been on a roll since a lopsided 111-58 loss to Minnesota on Aug. 2, winning 11 of its last 12 games.

Dana Evans added 17 points, while Jackie Young, Chelsea Gray and NaLyssa Smith scored 12 each. Wilson's double-double was her 18th double-double of the year, though the three-time WNBA MVP ended her streak of 30-point games at three.

For Phoenix (21-14), Alyssa Thomas recorded 17 points, 11 rebounds and six assists, while Satou Sabally scored 15 points. However, the Mercury struggled offensively, finishing with season lows in both points (61) and field-goal percentage (31%). The

momentum swung in Las Vegas' favor early. A 3-pointer from Kiersten Bell sparked a 7-0 spurt that put the Aces ahead 23-17 after the first quarter. Though Phoenix narrowed the gap late in the second quarter, Gray and Young scored quickly before halftime to cut the lead to 14-14.

The Mercury briefly cut the gap to one point in the third quarter, but Evans and Gray hit some great shots to keep Las Vegas firmly in control. After that, the Aces never looked back.

Phoenix also suffered a setback when Kahleh Copper went out with a rib injury after colliding with Wilson in the third quarter. She did not return.

Next up: The Mercury will host Golden State on Friday, while the Aces will travel east to face Washington on Saturday.
