MKBHD posted a video on X (formerly Twitter) sitting inside the car, saying: “I lived with a Chinese EV for a few weeks to see if the hype is real. This thing costs $42K but honestly feels like a $75K+ car, no question.”

In his full 20+ minute YouTube review of the SU7 Max variant, he gave it extremely high praise. Key highlights:

Some users called it the result of “Chinese government subsidies” that effectively cut the price in half. Others raised safety concerns, pointing to crashes in China.
