It started with a single blurry picture posted late last night on X.


Three Legends, One Perfect Chaos Moment

Tobey Maguire in the old red-and-blue Spider-Man suit, eyes wide like he just got caught sneaking cookies. Hugh Jackman behind him in full Wolverine yellow, claws out, one hand buried in Tobey’s hair, laughing like a maniac. And right in the foreground, Robert Downey Jr: green hood up, silver Doom mask gleaming, holding his phone sideways, taking a selfie of the whole ridiculous scene.

Blue screen walls, camera dollies, coffee cups everywhere. No question: this was snapped between takes on the actual set of Avengers: Doomsday.

The Internet Lost Their Minds in Real Time

Within minutes the replies went feral. Half a million views before sunrise. Someone zoomed in on RDJ’s reflection in the mask and swore they could see Chris Evans in the background. Someone else slowed the gif of Hugh yanking Tobey’s hair and turned it into an infinite loop that’s now everybody’s new lock screen.

Tobey looks thirty again. Hugh looks like he never aged past 2000. And RDJ, fresh off playing Iron Man for a decade, is suddenly the big green-cloaked bad guy photobombed by two of the most beloved superheroes of all time.

Marvel Is Staying Completely Silent (For Now)

Marvel hasn’t said a word. The Russo Brothers haven’t said a word. Disney’s PR inbox is probably on fire right now, but nobody’s answering the phone.

All we know is the caption that came with the photo: “Teaser trailer very soon.”

That’s it. No press release. No official stills. Just three legends goofing off on set, one lucky crew member who hit “post” instead of “delete,” and an entire fandom that just collectively forgot how to breathe.

Whatever happens next (fake, real, deepfake, whatever), the picture already did its job.

The hype train isn’t coming. It’s already here, and it just ran straight through the station without stopping.
