Hey Hawks fam, rough one last night up in New York. The Atlanta Hawks dropped a tough road game to the Knicks, 128-115, on January 2, 2026, at Madison Square Garden. This was the quick turnaround rematch after that heartbreaker back home a few days ago (128-125 loss), and unfortunately, we couldn't flip the script this time.

We came in hot off that big blowout over the Timberwolves on New Year's Eve – Jalen Johnson was beastin' with 34 and 10, and the whole team looked locked in. But on the road against a Knicks squad that's tough at home (they were 15-2 or somethin' comin' in), it was a different story. Trae Young was still banged up with that quad issue and limited (or maybe didn't go full throttle – reports had him questionable), which hurt our flow big time.
Jalen tried to carry us again – dude's been on a tear lately – but New York's stars showed up. Jalen Brunson and Karl-Anthony Towns were cookin', just like in the first matchup. Towns especially looked unstoppable down low.

Defense is still the big headache for us – we're lettin' teams drop way too many points, and it showed again. The Knicks bounced back strong after their collapse against the Spurs, and that home crowd at MSG was rockin'.
Now we're sittin' at 16-20, still fightin' for play-in position in the East. It's early in 2026, plenty of games left to turn it around. Gotta clean up the D, get Trae healthy, and keep buildin' on what worked against Minnesota.
What y'all think? Was it just a bad road spot, or do we need bigger changes? Drop your takes below. Next one's comin' up quick – let's get back on track. Rise Up!
