When Google's AI tripped over itself: A hilarious viral video

When Google's AI tripped over itself: A hilarious viral video
The internet often brings us things that make us laugh. A recent viral video mocked a bizarre answer given by Google's "AI Overview."

What is in the video?
The video begins with a screenshot of a Google search, in which a user asks the question: "Is it 2027 next year?" (Is the next year 2027?).

Normally, if the current year is 2026 (as shown in the context of the video), the answer should be 'yes.' But Google's AI gave a surprising answer:

"No, 2027 is not next year: 2027 is two years from now, as the current year (2026) is followed by 2027, and then 2028."

The AI's response clearly shows a contradiction—on the one hand, it says that 2027 comes after 2026, but at the same time, it describes it as "two years later."

Social media reaction
The video features this strange answer with the caption "Google IQ." It also features a humorous clip from the popular animated show "Family Guy," featuring Peter Griffin caught in a complex and absurd situation. This clip highlights how confusing even modern technology can sometimes be.

This video reminds us that no matter how advanced AI becomes, it can sometimes make mistakes in even basic calculations or reasoning. This short video is not only entertaining but also a satire on technological flaws.

Good, who had recently moved to the city with her wife and young child, was in her maroon Honda Pilot SUV near Portland Avenue when she stopped to support neighbors amid the raids. Federal officials claim the ICE agent, identified as Jonathan E. Ross, acted in self-defense after Good allegedly attempted to run over officers with her vehicle. However, local leaders including Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey and Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz have disputed this account, calling the shooting reckless and unjustified based on available video footage. Eyewitnesses and video evidence show Good calmly saying phrases like "That's fine, dude, I'm not mad at you" moments before the shots were fired.
