Ewan McGregor discusses his hopes for Andor Season 3 and a potential Obi-Wan Kenobi cameo during Fan Expo Canada. |
Why Obi-Wan’s Timeline Matters
McGregor admitted he was initially thrilled about the idea of joining the Andor cast, but he quickly realized that the show’s timeline doesn’t naturally align with Obi-Wan’s story. Andor concludes shortly before the events of Rogue One and A New Hope, leaving little room for the Jedi Master to appear—at least within the current seasons.
Why a Crossover Could Happen
Despite the timeline challenge, McGregor left the door open for potential storylines that could intersect with Obi-Wan’s journey.
“There’s always a chance that maybe there's a story that's happening at the same time where it kind of crosses over. So there's always a chance if Disney is listening—hypothetically, hypothetically. Come on, Disney.”
Why McGregor’s Clone Wars “Homework” Matters
In addition to his thoughts on Andor, McGregor revealed that he plans to catch up on the animated series Star Wars: The Clone Wars, jokingly calling it his “homework.” Fans have speculated that this could hint at a future live-action adaptation or even a reunion with Hayden Christensen’s Anakin Skywalker.
Future of Obi-Wan Kenobi
While McGregor is not aware of any plans for a second season of his own Obi-Wan Kenobi series, he remains open to future opportunities.
“I don’t know their plans right now, but I’m sure at some point,” he said.
Fans Are Eager for Obi-Wan’s Return
The Star Wars universe continues to expand, and fans are eager to see Obi-Wan Kenobi return in any form—whether through a crossover in Andor, a new season of Obi-Wan Kenobi, or a live-action take on The Clone Wars. McGregor’s enthusiasm keeps hope alive for fans everywhere.
